My husband and I have a small horse farm just outside of Lexington, Kentucky. As everyone knows, Lexington is the horse capital of the world. We have a few thoroughbreds and buy and sell them for a living. We also race some of our horses. It is such a different life than the one I grew up with.

My husband’s family has been into horses for generations. I just married into the business. I have really grown to love living in this part of the country. It just seems like a different world than the busy city that I grew up in.

We just recently built a new barn. My husband insisted that we put in the same security system as in our house. We got it through home security systems Kentucky. The barn is pretty close to the house, but we just want to make sure nothing happens to our horses. You wouldn’t believe how much these horses are worth. Of course we have insurance that covers the barn and the horses, but if you lose a horse, it is not as easy to replace as a barn. So we just have to try to keep them as safe as possible.
